Review on: Maybelline - Waterproof liquid eyeliner
At first, this eyeliner was great -- very black lines, very precise, and it wasn't difficult to get used to this kind of brush (actually this is my first liquid liner ever).
Lasting Strength -- Not very long! After half a day it's faded away somewhere, and it's not that waterproof at all. Maybe it's okay for people who don't have oily skin, but during the summer I had also sweated it off (or was it the humidity?) after maybe 3~4hrs of being outside.
Nearly a year later, I can't use this anymore. When I draw a line, it's very pale and blotchy, pretty much unusable. I guess it expired or something? No amount of coating this over itself will achieve a decent color or line anymore.
Bottom line, this thing is decent, especially when you first buy it, but know that you may need touchups during the day, and if you don't use up the bottle, it will go pale and clumpy.
Pros:Cheap, dark line (at first) Cons:Not long lasting, not that waterproof, went pale and clumpy after some months
Review on: Maybelline - Colour Define Shadow Stick in Satin Dragee
I liked the overall result after I'd used the product, the colour was great and it made a good base for other shadows.
The problem I had with it was that it was very hard to apply. It tugged my eyelid a lot and didn't go on smoothly. I tried warming it a tiny bit but it still wasn't great to apply.
Good for the price and for experimenting with shadow sticks but for people who haven't used shadow sticks before (like me) it's hard to use.
I just purchased several eyeshadows from Walgreens where they were having a BOGO, so this was the perfect opportunity for me to try Maybelline. I have always thought that Maybelline was not really made for people of color. But, I was willing to give a try. I bought one of the ExpertWear Eye Shadow Sunbaked Neutrals that has 8 shadows and I got Twilight Rays free, I also purchased Ivy League and and got Blue Slate free which has 3 shadows each, Emerald Isle and got Designer Chocolates free, and I got a couple of singles, Lux Lilac and got Amethyst free. I like all of them especially the Designer Chocolates and the blue shadow in Twilight Rays. The shadows go on nicely and stay for a long time, the product says 8 hours, but think it was longer than that. I would highly recommend giving Maybelline a try if you have not used it before.
Pros:nice colors, goes on great, lasts a long time Cons:A little expensive for me if I don't find them on sale.
::: The Product :::
Maybelline Lash Stylist has an exclusive V-Styling mascara comb which is supposed to sculpt and thicken lashes up to 65%. (Granted, this is according to the Maybelline website, while Walgreens' website says "sculpts extra-thickness; lifts up to 40%) Lash Stylist is available in both washable and waterproof, and comes in three colors: Very Black, Soft Black and Brownish Black. It is safe for contact lens wearers, and is Ophthalmologist tested.
Maybelline Lash Stylist comes in a matte black tube with silver writing stating the product and company name. Each tube is approximately 4" in length, about 1/2" in width, and contains 0.27 oz. of product. As with every other mascara out there, the plastic brush/comb is attached to the cap.
For best results, Maybelline suggests,"Comb mascara from the root to tip of your lashes for a bold, open-eyed effect. Do not let dry between coats. Removes easily with Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Towelettes or Expert Eyes 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover."

::: My Experience :::
I had actually bought this ones ages ago, and immediately dismissed the mascara as crap. For some reason, I decided I'd give it another go after coming across two people who absolutely love it. I figured I was trying every other mascara that I could get my hands on, so why not?
The first time I applied Lash Stylist, I was only testing it once I got home. I didn't use any primer, or even brush out my lashes first with a dry spoolie. I wasn't overly impressed, but remembered this was just a test. The comb didn't seem like it had a lot of product on it, until I was applying the mascara and realized the product seems to "sit" between the teeth in along the "V-shape." I wouldn't say this is an overly wet mascara, but it's not as dry as others I've used.
A few days later I use Lash Stylist for work, and actually curled my lashes and used my trusty Shiseido The Makeup Mascara Base first. Not bad! I didn't have any clumps, and definitely saw some length, but I can't say I saw much by way of volume. That was okay by me though since I'm not looking for a lot of volume in my mascara (that's where L'Oreal Full Definition Voluminous or Lash-Out come in to play). I only used one coat, and that's all that I ever use no matter what mascara it is. One avid Lash Stylist fan says not to use more than one coat, so I'll trust that opinion. I didn't have any flaking or smudging throughout the day, nor did I have brittle, hard feeling lashes. It might not be "holy grail" matter for me just yet, but definitely something I'll be keeping in rotation.
***Hint***I recommend trying to get as much product out of the V-shape as possible before applying. I noticed when I tried the root to tip while wiggling trick, the mascara seemed to want to distribute WAY more towards the roots than the tips. Then, try using the side of the comb to separate lashes once you've applied the mascara. I found my results were a lot better doing it this way!
::: Purchasing & Pricing Information :::
Maybelline Lash Stylist can be found in almost any superstore (i.e. Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart) or drugstore. Prices will range from $5.99 - $7.49. You can also purchase Lash Stylist online with select stores such as Walgreens and drugstore.com. You're best bet might be to get it when someone is having a BOGO sale so you can get a Maybelline product you already know you like, and get the mascara for either half-price or free. Hey! You can't pass up a deal, especially when trying something new!
::: Recommendation :::
I recommend Maybelline Lash Stylist to anyone who wants to try a new mascara that's decent for length. (If you're looking for volume, look into L'Oreal Full Definition Voluminous) I didn't have any flaking or smudging, and the mascara didn't clump on me or cause me to have hard, brittle feeling lashes.
Pros:Only one coat is needed; no clumps Cons:Can be tricky to use; very wet formula
i couldnt wait 2 try this foundation when it came out i hav combination skin and i suffer with acne i hav scaring all around my chin and mouth due 2 years and years of boils zits n blackheads so when this came out i was lookin 4ward 2 tryin it, as im on a tight budget i dont normaly spend a lot on makeup at all even though i wish i could i thought i may aswel jump in and buy it but i was sooo disapointed:(it made my skin itch i came out in huge reds lumps i didnt like the way it felt the coverage wasnt thick enough aswel, i did however use a concealer brush damp and go over my scaring n spots n it worked brilliantly as a cocealer no red lumps or itching so im still on the look out 4 the right foundation.:-)
I tried this based on a recommendation from a friend.... I like the mascara, it does lengthen and volumize..... but it smells. It smells like roses. So for the first 2 hours of the day after applying, I can smell roses coming from my eyelashes. I'm ambivalent as to whether or not this is disturbing me enough to not buy again......
Pros:Does what it claims.... length & volume Cons:Smells....... like roses!
Review on: Maybelline - Mineral Power Liquid Foundation
I bought this product on sale for $5.99, it is usually $9.99. the packaging makes the product look darker than it is. The brown packaging makes it look tan. i got it in the lightest shade - Light 0. it made me look yellowish. i am very pale. it does have a lighter feel to it than other liquid foundations, such as loreal truematch. but when i had opened it, there was no nozzle. the nozzle is supposed to be a dropper, shaped like the lid. but when i opened it there was product all in the lid. i guess thats why it was on sale. it was completely sealed but im sure they knocked off 40% of the price because of a damaged batch. i dont understand how a machine can make a mistake like that & you only notice it once its in every store. well, i fell like that was a piece of crap, no im thinking about debottling it & finding something else to put it in. that just irritates me so much. they didnt have a wide color selection. now there is product all over the opening & past the lid. UGH!!
Pros:supposed to be healthier. Cons:damaged contained, weird color,
I love the texture of this foundation. It's soft and silky which leaves your skin feeling that same way. The coverage is moderate. So if you've got slight discolorations it'll, definitely, cover it up. I wore it throughout the entire day and it didn't get very cakey. I think it depends on how much you apply, of course.
I do have to say that I don't think its price is reasonable. It's an average product to pay that much for.
This product contains Titanium Dioxide which makes black/african-american skin look ashy. When I put this on along with the dream matte powder I looked like a black ghost. It was just awful. I tried 2 different shades but got the same result. Why make a product for black skin that contains Titanium Dioxide? That is so stupid.
Review on: Maybelline - The Colossal Volume Express
I wouldn't repurchase this mascara. It did make my lashes look voluminous but I found it too clumpy. The brush is huge and somewhat awkward to work with.
Review on: Maybelline - The Colossal Volume Express
Ok, so let me start by saying I knew better. I have never been a fan of Maybelline mascaras in the first place, but maybe it was the huge bright yellow tube that enticed me.... I am so not impressed with this mascara. The wand comes out really gloppy, you have to wipe it onto a napkin before you can even get started or it is clump city. The smell was a turn off too, a really strong mix between a sharpie and and scented ink. (you remember those pens and markers that were supossed to be scented like berries and what not when you were a kid? Yeah, those.) I did not like it at all. The formula takes FOREVER to dry in between coats and clumps easy. Overall opnion is save your money, or go with Cover Girl Lash Blast instead. Much better formula.
Pros:none that i can see, maybe the color is a nice dark black? I am really trying to think of something nice to say.... Cons:Super gloppy formula, strong odor, takes forever to dry, clumps easily.
Review on: Maybelline - Maybelline Line works Ultra-Liner
Everybody note that the pic below is not of the Maybelline Lineworks liner, but of their regular liquid liner. The lineworks liner has a felt tip brush and is pretty easy to hold. It gives a continuous waterproof coverage for about 8 hours. It is still pretty good after that, but I noticed it starts to flake a bit after that, so you'll probably need a touch up.
Pros:waterproof, long lasting, easy to hold Cons:flakes a bit
This mascara is good because it's very dark and it'll make your eyes pop. However, I do agree that it doesn't curl or give volume to your lashes but it gives length. The wand this comes with has bristles that are too far apart and that may be the reason it doesn't give that voluminous look. This is the only mascara that I use but instead of using its wand, I opt for the L'Oreal Voluminous wand.
Pros:Cheap, Lengthens, Very Dark Cons:I don't care for the mascara wand.
I got his bogo at walmart and i did buy the one in the green tube. I am very pleasantly surprised. I don't however like the bendyness of the applicator where it meets the brush, its "bouncey" , although the green part itself is fine. I just used my lash out brush. I got a very flirty,long, seperated look. I curled after and then applied a light coat of waterproof and it looked amazing! And kept the curl. When i try that w/others the formula is too heavy and they fall after a few hours. I have tried numerous maybelline mascaras and this one is def the best! Next time i will try the volumizing one. Even better, i have been killing my lashes for the last few years with WP and this hopefully will help them go back to the way they used to be.
Pros:color, thickness of the formula, price Cons:brush
Overall I wasn't very impressed with this mascara.
Although it was very black which I liked I wouldn't buy it again. It was too clumpy and didn't really lengthen my lashes. Also, the brush was awful!! No wonder it didn't lengthen my lashes when the brush hardly had any brisstles on it!
Definatley not one of Maybellines best mascaras.
Pros:Good colour, not flakey, good price. Cons:Doesn't lengthen, clumpy, smudgey, brush is awful.
I got the Define-a-lash volume version of the mascara that's in a purple/red coloured tube rather than a green tube.
I really like this mascara! Makes my eyelashes crazily long and seperates too. No clumps and lots of volume! I would recommend it to anyone. I like the brush a lot although it hurts wayyy more than a normal mascara wand if you poke yourself in the eye with it! ouch!
Only thing that annoys me is a problem I have with the tube. It has too much suction and the hole is quite small (supposed to be so that you don't get too much mascara on the wand) so you have to pull harder than usual to get the brush out and I sometimes feel like this function has pulled all the mascara off the wand.
Apart from that, a great mascara over all.
Pros:Volumizes, lengthens lots!, separates, no clumps. Cons:Not too keen on the packaging.
Review on: Maybelline - Liquid Eyes in Eternal Espresso
Like the other shadows in this formula, I don't like this at all. The color itself is nice, it's a warm metallic brown that has a gold shine to it.It's not easy to apply at all, and after many attempts to get this to work I have given up. It dries too fast, which makes it hard to apply and blend properly. It looks flaky after it dries. It does have good pigmentation, lasts long, and doesn't crease, but that doesn't matter if it isn't applied properly. I will not be repurchasing this.
Pros:Good pigmentation, lasts long, doesn't crease Cons:Dries fast, dries flaky, pain to apply and blend
Review on: Maybelline - Liquid Eyes in Long Way Cabernet
Like I have said in other reviews, I don't like this product. The color itself is quite nice. It's a metallic, deep wine color. I wanted to like this, but it just plain sucks. It dries too fast, so it doesn't apply or blend well at all. It dreis flaky looking. It does have good pigmentation, lasts all day, and doesn't crease, but if your application is poor that means all day with poorly blended eye shadow. No thanks. I will not be repurchasing.
Pros:Good pigmentation, lasts all day, doesn't crease Cons:Dries too fast, dries flaky, hard to apply, hard to blend
Review on: Maybelline - Liquid Eyes in Permanent Platinum
This is a cool toned silver. The color itself is nice, but that is the only good thing about this. It comes in a tube with a sponge tip aplicator. I do not like this product at all. It dries too fast when trying to apply product, so blending is almost impossible. It looks flaky when it dries. It does have good pigmentation, lasts all day, and doesn't crease, but those good points are over shadowed by how horrible this product looks when applied. I would not repurchase and do not recommend this product.
Pros:Lasts all day, doesn't crease, good pigmentation Cons:Dries too quick, dries flaky, hard to apply, hard to blend
